WHAT IS A CAPPED RENTAL?
Your insurance, and Medicare, purchase and rent medical equipment. The decision to purchase or rent varies by product. In addition, there are some products that are rented for a period of time then convert to a purchase.
If you have questions about the status of your medical equipment feel free to contact us at (800) 977-3002.
Some items are categorized as a “capped rental”. This means that the item will be rented for a period of time, then converted to a purchase.
A capped rental through Medicare is paid for over a period of 13 months. Once the thirteenth month is paid title to the equipment is transferred (sold) to the patient.
Medicare, and some commercial insurance carriers, will rent medical equipment that may convert to a purchase.
