| Insurance Overview |
|
In general, medical equipment is covered by insurance when it is medically necessary, prescribed by a physician, and used by the patient. Some devices, such as CPAP machines and oxygen equipment may require laboratory testing, with qualifying results, prior to delivery. Some insurance plans have deductibles and / or co-payments that will be paid by the patient. If you have Medicare, you must have Part B benefits to have your medical equipment covered. You can determine your coverage by looking at the front of your Medicare card, or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE. If you have Medi-Cal you should be aware of their Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) procedure. For most equipment your medical records will be reviewed by a Medi-Cal representative. They will make the determination about coverage. Nonetheless, there can be a delay in receiving some items as this pre-authorization is processed. Our Medi-Cal specialists can help you determine the status and time frame for your order. Finally, we accept most major credit cards should insurance coverage not be available for the particular item you require.
